It's All About ME!
/1) I lived in Baton Rouge for my first year of design school (LSU) and loved it! This is where I developed my addiction to beignets. We would go to New Orleans whenever possible, and Cafe du Monde was always a must.
2) I can't let my husband drive if I am in the car. It is way too stressful for both of us. We have concluded that I have major "control issues".
3) I still love the movie "The Sound of Music" and sing every song along with the movie. My kids leave the room during my "Climb Every Mountain" rendition. Not sure why.
4) House is my favorite TV show. I love how Dr. House never hesitates to say out loud what we are all thinking. I am also fascinated by the way the English are so much better at American accents than Americans are at English accents. (ex. Brad Pitt in "Troy" OMG the horror!)
5)I cannot tolerate caffeine. I feel like I am going to crawl out of my skin after a half cup of Chai Tea, let alone coffee. On the upside, I probably save about $1000.00 per year in Starbuck's latte's, which I can spend on stuff for my house! (OK, I confess, I love a decaf carmel frappucinno every now and then.)
6)I cannot fall asleep without reading first. Now I get sleepy whenever I read. The Pavlov's dog thing. It doesn't stop me from being an avid reader however! I am now reading Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin ( The true story of an ordinary man who accomplishes the extraordinary feat of building schools for the children of Pakistan. I highly recommend it!), and Florence Broadhurst by Helen O'Neill ( Courtney fron Style Court has started a book group, and this is the first selection.)
7)My husband and I shared the same bedroom in college, but didn't actually meet until years later. He moved into the same bedroom in the same house right after I had graduated. We ended up meeting on New Year's Eve on a blind date about five or six years later. Kismet!
8)I can't help it. My favorite dessert is Pineapple Upsidedown Cake made with Bisquick. It has to have the maraschino cherries or it just isn't right. My Mom made it for us alot when I was growing up and I still love it! Total comfort food.
OK...I say that I am good for at least a year now. So here's the deal: Players list 8 facts/habits about themselves. At the end of the post, players then tag 8 people by posting their names and making sure they know they've been tagged by leaving comment at the tagee's blog. I am tagging:
