Holiday Shopping at the Sacramento Antique Faire

Last weekend was a busy one, as they always seem to be during December! 'Tis the Season when parties are in full swing, friends make a point of getting together, concerts, plays and Holiday Festivities run rampant. We have been busy decking the halls around the Denham house, and I am putting on the finishing touches to show to you all. I have also been out and about on Holiday House Tours, which I will also be showing to you soon! And shopping is always on the agenda! The Sacramento Antique Faire happens every second Sunday of the month, and I do make a point of trying to attend every month. December is always a great month to go for a few reasons. It is a great place to find unique Christmas gifts! And the prices cannot be beat. And when it is colder, the crowds are a bit thinner, so I do find the competition less intense and the prices a little better. OK, my secret is out.
I had no idea I would end up with so many purchases this time. I was trying to be conservative, but I could not pass up a few things.

So strange to think the 70's is considered "vintage", but when I look back on how people were dressed, I guess I have to admit it was a long, long time ago. Macrame was the craft of the day...practically everything was made out of it, from plant hangers to bikini tops. (I did have one of those back then!) When I saw this wine bottle covered in it, I had to laugh..... better the wine bottle than me! I decided I had to have it. I have a collection of bottles covered in with caning or wicker, but this one is definitely unique. Can't wait to add it to the collection! I was supposed to be shopping for gifts, and I did, but I did see a couple of things for me!
......I also found the silver and brass cuff bracelet for $8. Very cool! My stocking is getting a bit fuller!

I also saw this Majolica cardinal bird wine decanter from Italy, perfect for the Holidays! I am going to work my new friend into the Holiday decor around here....I will update you when I find the right spot!

I found these two brass wire bread baskets for a fantastic price. I have been trying to find something similar online to compare, but cannot find anything quite like them. They look like French wire bread baskets, but I cannot be sure. They have a fair amount of tarnish, which I love, but they could be new...or they could be as old as the 30's. If anyone has any information, I would love to know! But at a price of $25 for both, I thought they were great! I plan to fill them with Satsuma Tangerines and give (at least one) away as a gift this year.....

There are a number of vintage clothing vendors at the Sacramento Antique Faire. Usually, I am so caught up with furniture and accessories, I have not focused on the clothes, but I was with some friends that were looking at jackets, and I ran across this one....

It is in perfect condition, and I bought it for my daughter. This is how I picture her. Do you think she will like it? I never know what to get them anymore!.....

The last thing I have to show you is this little oak octagon table I found. I think it is an Arts and Crafts era table. I can hardly wait to get it in shape! I love the shape and style. At $20, it was a steal!

Well....I did get the shopping bug that day, and there was so much more damage I could have done! Here is a just a little more that is had to leave behind.....

I love old silver, Hotel or otherwise. This table looked great with the silver bowls and  painted china lamps....

Cute little greenhouse made from old windows with a very cheery little winter scene inside.....

Some fun metal numbers and letters in every shape, color and size. I almost grabbed a few, but my friends had already moved on down the isle.

When it comes time for gift giving, where do you like to shop? (I can always use some fresh ideas!)

Wishing you and yours
a bountiful Holiday Season and New Year!
